I tried this simple bag to keep my knitting needles..as of now.
And yes, my next project is to make a needle keeper..

The handle in moss stitch..
1. Cast on 5 stitches
2.First Row: knit, purl, knit, purl, knit
3.Second Row:purl, knit, purl, knit, purl
4.Repeat Step 2 and 3 for desired length.

And the bag in stockinette st..

3.Second Row: Purl
4.Repeat 2 and 3 for the pattern.
5.After 30th row, follow the pattern with decreasing the stitches as below.
6.Decrease 2 stiches for each row. Decrease by knitting/purling 2 stitches together at the start and end of each row.
7.Keep decreasing unit you reach 9 rows. Bind off.

And my second scarf.....

I made this scarf using US needle size 9 and a mixed color worsted yarn.
A nice long and tubular scarf!

Pattern

First Row:
Knit, purl, knit, purl... first four stitches(Seed stitches),
Knit the next 20 stitches (Stockinette Stitch)
Purl, knit, purl, knit... last four stitches(Seed stitches),

Second Row:
Knit, purl, knit, purl... first four stitches(Seed stitches),
Purl the next 20 stitches (Stockinette Stitch)
Purl, knit, purl, knit... last four stitches(Seed stitches),

Repeat the rows till desired length.

Simply, edges in alternating knit and purl(just 4 stitches)
and rest in alternating rows of knit and purl.

PS:Stockinette stitch curls and this scarf looks like a tube. Don't bother, it looks pretty though!
Its said that, seed stitch would prevent the curling of Stockinette, but that applies only for a small table cloth or washcloth, as you would see in my next post.

To match my Kitchen Towel........

Stockinette stitch wash cloth..
Pattern:
  1. Cast on 41 stitches.
  2. First four rows in seed stitch (Alternating Knit, Purl and end in a Knit Stitch).
  3. Rest of the Rows in seed stitch for the first four stitches(Knit, Purl, Knit, Purl) and last four(Purl, Knit, Purl, Knit) and stockinette stitch in the middle for the remaining rows(33 rows)
  4. And finally four more rows in seed stitch.i.e, repeat step 2.
  5. Bind off.
This can also be used for holding hot pans or on table top.
I had a kitchen towel in red, so I had to make this wash cloth from the leftover yarns from my previous projects.

Oh.. the fingers are missing.......

Fancy gloves!
Hand looking pretty wihtout the thin slender Fingers!!

I tried to learn the purl stich by kniting/purling this wonderful Gloves.
Though not useful, this can be a good gift to someone!!

I used the following materials and pattern

Red heart wrosted Wollen
28 Stiches and 44 rows
First 24 rows Rib stich(Each Row : knit, knit, purl, purl...repeat)[This really brings the
elasticity at the wrist]
Next 14 rows Stockinette stich(Alternating rows of knit and purl stich)
Last 6 rows Again rib stich

After binding off, stitch the ends using a needle, leaving a space for the thumb! Make sure to stitch in the inner side and reverse the gloves before using!!

I followed the pattern from here, but knitted additional stiches accordingly!

My First Lesson....

Its my long time desire to learn knitting..

Recently, when I saw the knitting needles and yards at Walmart stores, I decided to start!
I had no idea about the size and type of the needle to purchase.
I decided to get needle size-7 and picked some random Yard.

And when I started to knit, it was like a nightmare...I struggled hard to remember the knot which my friend taught me when I was in my college!
Then I looked up in the net and learnt to knit...
Though beginners are guided to use needle-size 11, which would have been much easier, but I managed to knit..trial with size 7.. and here is my '..Piece'.

my first knitted piece!!

For this I used..about to be trashed papers.
Red and White flowers were cut from Bank of America's File[the one which they gave for opening an account].
Brown paper from HEB recycled bags
and I used some shirt Buttons!!
And this would be the cheapest Scrapbook page I could ever make..
